Multi-Objective Optimization of LCC-S-Compensated IPT System for Improving Misalignment Tolerance

Due to their excellent performance, the inductor–capacitor–capacitor-series (LCC-S)-compensated topologies are extensively used in inductive power transfer (IPT) applications. However, perfect alignment of system’s contactless couplers is difficult, which leads serious deterioration system output characteristics. In this paper, influence coupler misalignment on performance conventional resonant studied. To obtain stable against varying couplings and loads a certain range, novel parameter design method based multi-objective particle swarm optimization (MOPSO) algorithm introduced. The framework developed analyze Pareto trade-offs between three conflicting metrics, namely current/voltage ripple, reactive transmission component stress. Optimization results depict that tolerances both constant current (CCO)-type voltage (CVO)-type LCC-S-compensated IPT systems improved, while wider load range suitable for CCO-type using compensation optimization. Experimental highly consistent with design, achieving fluctuation no more than 10.5% from 50 Ω 100 less 10.4% narrow 90 over 100% coupling variations (from 0.25 0.5).
